About the Role
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Rust, C++, Java, Kotlin).
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience with android, connectivity, and AI technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Experience with agentic systems, large language models (LLMs), or other machine learning technologies.
- Experience with connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB).
- Experience building tools and frameworks for other engineers.
- Passion for creating high-quality, well-documented, and consistent APIs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical goal and roadmap for cross-device experiences. Make critical architectural decisions, ensuring the platform is scalable, maintainable, and adaptable to future needs.
- Lead the architectural design and integration of cross-functional solutions into development and testing infrastructure. Identify strategic opportunities to solve challenging problems in the multi-device ecosystem.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and partner with teams across Google, as well as with external OEMs. Influence technical direction and drive alignment across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Design and implement functionalities, focusing on enhancing user experiences with features like Quick Share, Cast and Fast Pair.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, and provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers. Grow the team's technical capabilities by fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence, and participating in hiring.
